Day 7

And the nails are still looking goodximage

March madness

Had a bit of fun today and got my nails painted with the supposedly super strong long lasting shellac polish. Well it’s certainly shiny, whether it lasts the two weeks it’s meant to and still looks the same remains to be seen. Time will tell I guess.

Just thought id post this picture. This was a picture I have just completed as a commission for someone who’s son is getting married this weekend. I enjoyed making it, luckily the customer is pleased with how it’s turned out ..

Sometimes even the rain can’t make a pretty place sad!!

I was flicking through some photos and came across these, taken just over a week ago on a really miserable cold wet day. Definately felt and looked more like november than august. Anyway, me and the hubby had a rare child free day, so regardless of the pouring rain, we trundled up the motorway for half an hour to one of our favourite places, Arnside. It’s a tiny seaside town at the very top of lancashire, nothing much there other than a couple of pubs, a fabulous cafe bakery, and a handful of shops but we love it. For anyone out there who thinks that the whole of lancashire s coast is like Blackpool, this is definately quite the opposite, and in my opinion much much better .  Even the rain can’t make this place ugly. Sooo wrong yet sooo delicious

Doing my domestic goddess bit, I decided to make these sweet salty bars from nigellas kitchen book. Melted chocolate, syrup and butter, then add crumbled crunchie bars and then oddly salted peanuts, then chill in the fridge. These sound quite wrong but taste amazing. Jamies verdict …. Delicious!! It would seem Ive hit the spot as far as summer holiday treat food goes.

Work in progress

Just a couple of photos of the pictures I’m working on at the minute. I have a craft fair I’m doing at the end of the month and as I am away next week on holiday, I really need to get these done as soon as possible. Luckily it’s been half term in our house this week so that’s given me a bit of time, but, still it’s all busy, busy busy. Hopefully I’ll be able to post the finished articles later this week.

Lovely day

Hello again, well what a difference a day makes, yesterday it was glorious, the sun was shining and it was soooooo deliciously warm and toasty.  First Saturday of the month we have a lovely little farmers market near us so first stop was to stock up on bbq food. Having met up with friends with the same idea we decided to pool together our buys and have a shared meal. So shopping done we mooched on to the local DIY shop and ended up spending far too much on more plants for the garden. After an afternoon of me very lazily watching my lovely hubby plant up we went to our friends house to shared our food and to sit in their gorgeous garden before coming home to have a last brew before bed. Such a lovely slow and relaxing day, really enjoying the summer sun and hoping for more to follow. Alas, not too be, woke up this morning to grey miserable preston rain. Oh well it was good while it lasted.
